Rockwood Programs began in July of 1996 as a wholly owned subsidiary of E.W. Blanch. Its original charter was to provide Blanch clients with access to a diverse array of distribution systems through which insurance products can be marketed.

The Rockwood management team concluded a buy-out of the company on July 1, 2000. We are confident that the unique blend of marketing expertise, industry reputation, and talented professional staff will allow us to continue to be successful.

What makes Rockwood so successful? While it’s organizational structure mimics an independent P&C agency, its daily function is quite different. Some of our most significant components:


  1. Rockwood Program Administrators  is a full service Managing General Agency. The entity is fully licensed in 50 states and has the capacity and legal status to handle P&C, Life, and A&H products. Current national programs include Employment Practices Liability (EPLI), Life Agents E&O, P&C Agents E&O, IT Consultants, Podiatrist Liability, Non-Profit D&O, and Specialty Disability.

    Rockwood currently possesses a sub-producer network of over 10,000 retail agents nationwide.
  2. Rockwood Specialty, Inc. Our wholesale brokerage operation specializes in the placement of management liability products. We have multiple relationships with carriers rated “A” or better.

  3. Rockwood Marketing Services Rockwood Programs provides a full array of marketing-related services to our insurance company clients. Rockwood Marketing Services can also serve as an outsourced marketing department to insurers. Activities that can be performed include: research, telemarketing, communications development and marketing campaign management.

  4. Rockwood Solutions Rockwood is uniquely positioned to help insurance carriers and their distribution systems. Primary services include:

    • Product differentiation through “Write Your Own” EPLI and the Executive Protection programs
    • Custom designed E&O programs for insurers distribution forces
    • Database and compliance services for insurer marketing departments
    • E&O/D&O coverage for insurance carriers
    • Electronic Marketing to proprietary databases of over 120,000 P&C agents and 150,000 Life agents nationwide.


  5. Target Markets An Association dedicated to the needs of Program Administrators. Rockwood established the organization in 2001 and continues to handle all administrative and support functions on its behalf. www.targetmkts.com

  6. Target Programs This commercial website was developed for Program Administrators in the Target Markets Association to promote their programs to Independent P&C Agents. Agents are drawn to the site using multiple marketing media, and directed to members company websites. Participants also receive free and discounted e-marketing services. www.targetprograms.com
