Senior Production Manager

Job Purpose

  1. DEVELOP DETAILED PRODUCTION BUDGETS ANNUALLY to achieve the business growth goals established by senior management.
  2. WORK WITH OTHER ROCKWOOD MANAGEMENT STAFF AND THIRD-PARTY MEMBERS in the development of marketing strategies needed to achieve annual production targets.
  3. EFFECTIVELY MANAGE RESOURCES (personnel, marketing, etc.) allocated to the Senior Production Manager’s profit center.
  4. ESTABLISH, CULTIVATE, AND MAINTAIN sub-producer networks, association relationships, and other business sources to generate adequate new business/renewal submission flow.
  5. ACCEPT ACCOUNTABILITY PRODUCTION GOALS SUBMITTED TO SENIOR MANAGEMENT by monitoring production, consistently reporting results to senior management, identifying shortfalls, and developing/implementing corrective strategies as needed.

General Responsibilities

IN SUPPORT OF CORPORATE GOALS/OBJECTIVES, the Senior Production Manager will be required to:

  1. RESEARCH AND DEVELOP strategies and plans for improving market penetration within the target business segments, identifying new distribution sources, and optimizing cross-sell opportunities.
  2. COORDINATE the planning and development of marketing brochures, website content, press releases, and other communications materials. This includes periodic monitoring of published information to ensure that all content remains accurate and relevant.
  3. PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR UNDERWRITING/PLACING at least a portion of business written within the Profit Center.
  4. IMPLEMENT CONSERVATION STRATEGIES designed to optimize renewal retention.
  5. COMMUNICATE results of all marketing initiatives to the appropriate profit center personnel. Actively seek feedback from the underwriting staff and incorporate them into subsequent promotional campaigns as appropriate.
  6. PROVIDE SUPERVISORY OVERSIGHT for other producers, underwriters, and/or support personnel assigned to the Senior Production Manager’s profit center
  7. CREATE weekly and monthly production summaries for senior management personnel.
  8. ESTABLISH AND NURTURE business relationships with insurance companies, business associations, performance-based partnerships, and vendors.
  9. DESIGN, IMPLEMENT, AND MAINTAIN internal processes and procedures within the department.
  10. CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL AGENCY PERFORMANCE by completing other related assignments as necessary.

Position Requirements:

Technical Experience:

  1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a producer for Management/Professional Liability lines of insurance business
  2. Maintain a P&C Insurance Agent’s license
  3. Possession of either (a) an existing portfolio of Management/Professional Liability business, or (b) quantifiable production network (sub-producers, Association contacts, etc.)
  4. College degree preferred but not required.

  1. No unresolved administrative actions against the Senior Production Manager by any state agency or industry Association
  2. Ability to successfully pass a background check.

  • Salary commensurate with level of experience, size of business portfolio/sub-producer network, and other factors. Minimum of $85,000.
